thats a true point and well established. i too have been denied time and time again. i dont have children under 18[dependants] yet my two sons who cant find suitable help[18&22] still live with me. we get food stamps but thats it. if you dont have an address to supply them with you get axactly zero, no help at all. so i guess the homeless stay that way. its trully a pitiful thing that taxpayer money fuels this country and as great as its supposed to be? we have people in real need that cant get help. and the whole time the u.s. is over in other countries trying to be the world police and killing as many or more peolple than the tyrants they claim to be weeding out. all with our money, and the tune of trillions of dollars. my goodness, 1 trillion would take care of alot of homeless people and much more. i read one comment that mentioned that begging was disgusting. im a begger and and i can really appreciate that. im discusted hourly by it. id say. close our borders, through the bad seeds out, and take care of our own. once thats done? then maybe try to help other nations with their problems. yet that will never happen. id like to see a handful, just a handful now, of our politicians thrown in the streets to live the homeless without help life for awhile. theyd be crying and begging to. put some real jobs on the boards. give everyone the opportunities we had as children. there were no layoffs, and you could walk away from one job down the street and get another that same day, minutes or hours later. im 53 and being under 50 dont have a thing to do with it. if itd make someone in power look damn good. youd get all the help you need. a couple of pics, a few fast words to the press. and whoever got your ball rolling? would be limo'd home or to the health club. which is paid for with what? tax money from the wages of everyone who has paid into their ever stumbling system. if your in politics, even at a low entry level? your already playing the game. if you dont? you dont get in. i surely hope you find some kind of help. theres no reason why any of us shouldnt be able to.

I've been denied help because I don't have dependent children, because I'm not over 50, because I'm not at least 55 and because I don't have a referral letter from a homeless shelter. I still can't find that free stuff in America.

Only In America

Holy Crap. I'm so sick of being like this. I have some pliers.........not. The thought has crossed my mind. I have three teeth that are very loose. I might be able to......not......

I think I may have to move onto the streets or commit a crime so I can get my teeth fixed. The amount of people who have told me that they got their teeth fixed while they were serving time astounds me. I have to be completely destitute or in jail to get someone to help me with my teeth. Or sit here and die. ......Only in America.

Will You give this to my Daddy?

By SAHM of 3 - on Nov 30, 2009

I read this earlier today and I just wanted to post it so that everyone would see it! Its heart breaking so grab a tissue!
Will You give this to my Daddy?

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'

Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed One of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and Cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our Service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi..'

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her...

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second.. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday - and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED.
The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is....We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example.

IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON.

IF YOU COULD CARE LESS, THEN HIT THE DELETE BUTTON --- IT IS YOUR CHOICE
I WILL BE WEARING RED ON FRIDAYS FROM NOW ON!

Happy Columbus Day!

By Denise19 - on Oct 12, 2009

I woke up and remembered that it was Columbus Day simply because I knew that meant we don't get any mail today.

Pretty sad, huh? Should we have more respect for Columbus, or should we wish he'd never discovered this mess we call America?

True Crime - and HUMOR?

By TrueCrimeFanatic - on Jan 8, 2009
Posted in TrueCrimeFanatic

There isn't much humor in true crime, except for those of us who have to make light sometimes in often crude ways, in order to stay sane when something crazy is surrounding you.

Tonight, January 2009, Conan O'Brien said there is a silver lining in everything. He was giving pathetic statements, such as the President announced the White House cat died, then offered the silver lining (the cat wrote his foreign policies). Imagine my surprise at the giggles I came out with when as he talked about kids, and on such a sad and unnecessary topic, upon finding humor in his sick silver lining.

The Bad News: America's kids are more obese than ever.

Silver Lining: Pedophiles are having more trouble scooping kids into their vans.

Well, it's sick humor, but what if... what if it were really true. That would make it almost a good thing, wouldn't it?

In today's economy, we learn people will stoop to any level to make a buck. Shoot, even photos of Caylee Anthony's skeletal remains were in court just to prevent someone profiting from their sales. What if well known companies and advertisers used infamous crimes or criminal activity to earn name recognition?

It might go something like this (see if you can guess the new slogans with the company): True Crime Fanatic dark humor.

When the House Is Gone...

By Emil - on Oct 23, 2008

This is from today's New York Times:

"Forty-four percent of employees live paycheck to paycheck, according to a survey conducted by MetLife in late 2007, and 48 percent of American households have less than $5,000 in liquid assets according to Edward Wolff, an economist specializing in the study of poverty and income distribution at New York University."

In other words... about half of Americans... every other American... at any given moment... have money enough to cover expenses for about one (1) single month ahead.
